/T-AS Series Paddle Flow Switch.webp)
The T-AS Series is an SMS-TORK paddle-type flow switch that confirms liquid is flowing in a line, used for pump dry-run protection, low-level warning and cooling or lubrication circuit monitoring.
Flowing liquid deflects the flat face of a stainless steel (AISI 316) paddle arm, moving a magnet mounted at its end that trips a reed switch sealed inside the nickel-plated brass tube, changing the output contact from open to closed or closed to open without any electronics in the wetted path. The switching point is field adjustable: loosening the bolts at the top of the plastic cap and rotating the contact tube sets the unit for normally open or normally closed operation and tunes the exact flow rate at which it trips. The nickel-plated brass body is rated PN25 and -20 to 110 degrees C with an FKM seal, detects water flow from roughly 3.5 to 18 l/min depending on size (up to 60 l/min maximum) at plus or minus 15 percent of full scale, and switches up to 200 VDC / 250 VAC at up to 1.5 A and 50 W/VA, rated IP68. It connects via G3/8 (DN10), G1/2 (DN15), G3/4 (DN20) or G1 inch (DN25) female threads, mounted horizontally as standard, with a 1.5 m sensor cable as standard and longer cable available on request. Typical duties include cooling and lubricant circuit monitoring, dry-running protection for pumps, low water level prevention, and detecting a pipe fracture by loss of flow.
