SMS-TORK Scotch Yoke Pneumatic Actuators

Scotch Yoke Pneumatic Actuators (RSY series) are SMS-TORK actuators that use a scotch yoke mechanism instead of rack and pinion gearing, delivering noticeably higher output torque at the start and end of the stroke where a valve needs it most to break away and fully seat.

Built on the same design philosophy as the TORK RA range, the RSY actuator uses a corrosion-protected extruded aluminium body and caps, cartridge-design corrosion-resistant springs, and stainless steel nuts and bolts, with double acting units convertible to single acting and stroke adjustable plus or minus 5 percent in both directions. Standard connections follow ISO 5211 and DIN 3337 for the valve mounting and Namur VDI/VDE 3845 for solenoid valves, limit switch boxes and positioners, with an Arctic RASYM variant available for -60 degree C service on the same scotch yoke platform.
