
Shabbir Ahmed Malik is a senior electrical industrial professional with 35 years of hands-on experience across LV/MV electrical power systems, large distribution networks, reliability maintenance, and electrical project execution.
His career includes major industrial exposure at ICI Pakistan Ltd, supporting chemical manufacturing power systems up to 30MW, and EGA Dubai, UAE, working with aluminium smelter and water desalination plant systems up to 630MW.
His reliability maintenance background spans 415V to 11kV generators from 320kW to 95MW, transformers from 200kVA to 95MVA, rectifier DC power transformers rated 33kV/700VDC and 30kADC, LV/MV switchgear, motors, cables, ABB VFDs and soft starters, protection systems, earthing systems, energy management systems, auto load shedding, SLDs, schematic control, and DCS hook-ups.
He also contributes to reliability project execution through design review, inspection, testing, commissioning, system revamping, plant modernization, power expansion, and capacity enhancement projects. His system study work includes gap analysis, power loss review, and load distribution assessment.
Across leadership roles, he has developed electrical asset management systems, criterion-based maintenance task lists, electrical safety SOPs, and innovative as-built SLDs while managing section performance, training needs, SHE KPIs, budgets, spares, maintenance plans, and regulatory compliance.
