EKK008B5 Bauer - Spring-Applied Motor Brake

The EKK008B5 is a Bauer EKK series spring-applied motor brake, a fail-safe DC electromagnetic brake that engages automatically on loss of power and releases electrically, fitted to the end of a Bauer gear motor.

Spring-applied brakes of this type hold the load the instant power is removed, which is the standard safety requirement on hoists, inclined conveyors and other drives that must not run back or free-fall if the supply trips, and the unit carries a 24V DC coil rating per its nameplate.
